Sheep’s Head Way

Explore the ancient landscape on the 88km Sheep’s Head Way, a circular walking route beginning in the town of Bantry in County Cork traversing low hills and clifftop coastline and running out along the north coast of the peninsula to the scenic lighthouse at the very tip before returning along the south side, passing through the pretty villages of Kilcrohane, Ahakista and Durrus.

The Sheep’s Head Loop Walks

A marvellous introduction to the coastal walks and lush farmland along the Wild Atlantic walking trails around the peninsula’s unspoilt coastline. These walks give you a taste of what it is like to walk the complete Sheep’s Head Way. The walks radiate from trailheads at Drimoleague, Bantry, Ahakista, Kilcrohane, Black Gate, and Tooreen near the tip of the Sheep’s Head peninsula. Each of the Sheep’s Head loop walks will take you between one and seven hours to complete.
